Current Projects
Posted on June 5th, 2008 by The Staff

So we know we’ve been slow moving over the past few months and haven’t been able to keep the news as up to date as we’ve wanted, but in our absence we’ve made headway on some new projects which will be heading your way soon. The current project that is getting the most attention is a program that is currently named ToDo Sync. ToDo Sync is a cross platform compatible third party application which is used to synchronize Rainlendar2 todo lists and events between networked computers. It’s still in developmental stages, but we hope to have it released in the next month or so. Also, here at the Helisoftworks studios we’ve been planning some new online game development, however we are not a position to disclose information regarding the games. So, with that being said, please forgive us for some of our recent inactivity and we look forward to bringing some new software available to the public.

Checking In
Posted on March 11th, 2008 by The Staff

Hey everyone, sorry that its been so long, we’ve been taking a bit of a break from the coding scene. But starting this month we’re resuming progress on two fairly extensive projects that we are not quite ready to disclose much information about. We currently have no clue as to when we’ll have stable versions of the programs for release but hopefully it won’t be too long. In other news, soon we’ll be releasing an update for Gooey.Lib adding more functionality.

Until then, stay tuned in!

Happy Holidays
Posted on January 5th, 2008 by The Staff

Happy holidays everyone! We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season and had a blast brining in the new year. Here at Helisoftworks we’re looking forward to a great 2008 filled with countless software releases, starting right now with the release of a brand new program called passCRYPT. passCRYPT is a secure username/password encryption database program so you never have to forget your passwords again or leave them sitting on your hard drive in a plain text document. We’ve released both a compiled executable jar and full source code in the projects section.

In other news, we’ve got a few projects being pounded away at the forge right now that we’re really excited about. These current projects are bigger than many of the ones we’ve previously released on the site and we hope that they’ll draw a greater audience to Helisoftworks. Right now we’re not disclosing any further information on them except that we will keep you posted on future developments and clues about the projects.

Gooey.Lib Update (1.2.0 to 1.2.1)
Posted on December 8th, 2007 by The Staff

A minor update has been released for Gooey.Lib which fixes input errors for the makeTabbedPane() and makeFileFilter() methods. The makeTabbedPane() method now takes a char as a parameter and properly sets the tab placement for the correct char. For the makeFileFilter() method, usage of a ‘.’ when creating a file filter is now accepted so, for example, the end user may use “.exe” or “exe” when defining the file filter for EXE executables.

Gooey.Lib v1.2.1 Changelog
Fixed parameter errors in the makeTabbedPane() method.
Added support for ‘.’ usage in the makeFileFilter() method.

BBC News Player Release
Posted on November 26th, 2007 by The Staff

Today we released our first Visual Basic 6.0 project, since our restructuring, called the BBC News Player. The application is a small stand alone media player that brings the British Broadcasting Corporation’s web radio streams, web links, and video clips directly to your desktop. The player requires that Windows Media Player is installed or some form of wmp.dll. Helisoftworks would like to make it very clear that we are in no way affiliated with the British Broadcasting Corporation, nor do we take any credit, or claim ownership, for any of the BBC’s content. By using this application, the end user also voids any claim to ownership of the content presented via the BBC News Player. For more information on the project and to download the application, please click here.
